IT'S = contraction of it is
It's raining today.
ITS = possessive of it
Its purpose in life is to sit.
Continuing to post because it's so old.

Why the 6 character password minimum
ABC...XYZ: 26 characters
abc...xyz: 26 characters
123...890: 10 characters
---
for one character: 62 possible combinations
two: 62^2= 3,844
four:62^4= 14,776,336
six: 62^6= 56,800,235,584 possible combinations [with CaSe SEnsItiVitY]
six: 36^6= 2,176,782,336 possible combinations [without case sensitivity]
---
thus the longer characters, the harder is to crack the password.
That was fun to type up.

Computer in the Meantime
With the laptop out for the time being, I'm resorting to my old desktop computer.
Pentium II 300 MHz
4 GB HD
160 MB EDO RAM
Windows XP Vanilla
1024x768
The experience is so-so. Internet is alright until I encounter large HTML code, heavy flash, or massive pop-ups. The latter two I can treat, nothing I can do with the first one. The browser and winamp take up +50% CPU. I can do either/or, but both.... eep. The hard drive is a wee bit small for my gigs of mp3s and since they're archived on DVD and this computer does not have a DVD drive, I have to use CDs burnt in 2001. No biggie.

It's an interesting self study project I'm working on. I started this yesterday. Over time I hope to improve. Last time I typed so slow was well... middle school. So far:
P | G
AOEUI | DHTNS
AOEUI | DHTNS
Things I have to overcome:
Vowels are on left hand, home row - AOEUI
S is where ; used to be
I've noticed with the positions of E H & T, the chances of typing "TEH" is nill. Just type right to left and get "THE"
It gets dizzy alternating b/w keyboard formats.

First Entry
The laptop is in for "servicing" so I'm stuck with a desktop.
Notes to self:
When the hard drive makes sounds that didn't occur before, backup immediately.
Save often.
